The Business
Voortrekker Biltong, set up by a South African couple, produces high quality, traditionally made, hand sliced biltong in small batches for butchers, FMCG markets and individuals. The focus is on the heritage, traditional recipe, allied with the health and exercise aspect - high protein, low fat, low calories, all natural.
The Identity
Brand is built to show the rough and hardness of the Great Trek made by the Voortrekkers, paired with the providence of the ingredients and meat. Hand illustrated logo (redrawn as vector) centred around the ossewa wagon (think Wild West wagon with a twist), paired with a rough font, coloured in deep greens and sun-drenched oranges.
The Website
Styled with the brand elements (paint slashes, mix of vintage maps, black & white and coloured images, rough and precise elements) the site gives an authentic (as possible) feel for the biltong and the makers. The site is geared towards individuals purchasing biltong, with information for wholesale buyers and the Voortrekker history.
